Up for purchase is Led Zeppelin’s ‎Led Zeppelin I (self-titled debut). This is a 1977 pressing. Originally US released on the Atlantic record label under catalog number SD 19126 on January 12, 1969. No Bar Code. Labels include "PR" suffix (indicating Presswell pressing) and "Mfg. By Atlantic Recording Corp., 75 Rockefeller Plaza NY, NY "WB logo" A Warner Communications Company". PRC Recording Company mastered by PRC, RI variant of this Specialty press mastered at Atlantic Studios. Track B5 time listed as 3:30, but actual time is 8:30. Band member names in black on back jacket, save for Plant, which is white. Matrix/Runout: ST-A-681461-E t/GP PRC (PR); (B Side Label): ST-A-681462-E t/GP PRC (PR). The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. The sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied and vivid - you cannot expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording.

Original printed Atlantic logo inner sleeve. Led Zeppelin is the eponymous debut studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was recorded in October 1968 at Olympic Studios in London and features integral contributions from each of the group's four members. The album established their fusion of blues and rock. It also attracted a large and devoted following to the band; Zeppelin's take on the emerging heavy rock sound endeared them to parts of the counterculture on both sides of the Atlantic. The vinyl has some light scratches and there is some surface noise, but almost exclusively heard between tracks.There are definitely no skips. Original inner sleeve has seam splits on the sides and the outer sleeve has my brother's initials on the back cover in the corner and has some edgewear but no splits. Overall a good, solid copy of a relatively early pressing. I play graded it and must confess I played it more than once - what a great album. I'm going to miss this gem! See photos for details.
