Up for auction is the ultimate Beatles collectible, an original 45 vinyl of "Love Me Do/P.S I Love You" featuring Ringo Starr on the drums! This single was the very first release of the Beatles record by Capitol in North America...just before Beatlemania swept the world.
It's in beautiful condition. I don't know much about records, but even an amateur can tell that this 45 has hardly been played.
I researched as much as I could about this 45, but I encourage all potential buyers to look into this rare recording for themselves. Please see all the information down below, if you have any other questions, I'll try my best answering them.
ALL offers will be considered, so please contact me if you are interested but don't want to pay the listed price.

Thank you for looking!

CONDITION : Vinyl is in near mint ( or Mint minus ) condition, showing no obvious signs of wear with the original finish intact. The paper sleeve is in very good condition with one creased corner. It may not have been the original one issued with the 45. The originals were a black sleeve with Capitol printed on it. I was unable to find out any information about this one.
LABEL : Capitol Records 72076  Recorded in England  Mfd. in Canada  Orange and Yellow Swirl label.
SIDE ONE : Love Me Do with Paul McCartney on vocals, bass; John Lennon on vocals, harmonica; George Harrison on acoustic rhythm guitar; and Ringo Starr on drums.  7XCE 17144 Recorded in England
-The Canadian master for this 45 released in Canada on Capitol 72076 was dubbed from the English Parlophone R4949 single, which was recorded at EMI Studios, London, England on Sept. 4, 1962 and features Ringo Starr on drums with no tambourine to be heard. The American pressing of Love Me Do on Tollie 9008 has Andy White on drums and was recorded on Sept. 11, 1962 also at EMI Studios, London, England with Ringo Starr relegated to playing tambourine as instructed by producer George Martin.
-Interestingly, when Love Me Do first entered the American charts, it was due to sales of imported copies from Canada on Capitol 72076 with Ringo Starr on drums. In March of 1964 it was released in the USA on Tollie 9008 with Andy White on drums and Ringo Starr on Tambourine.  Love Me Do was the first song ever written by Paul McCartney and occurred sometime during 1957 or 1958 when he was just 15 or 16 and was later credited to Lennon-McCartney.
SIDE TWO P.S. I Love You with Paul McCartney on vocals, bass; John Lennon on acoustic rhythm guitar, backing vocals; George Harrison on acoustic guitar, tremolo lead guitar, backing vocals; and Ringo Starr on maracas, Andy White on drums, George Martin on piano and Norman Smith with the cowbell. 7XCE 17145 Recorded in England.
-This version also recorded on Sept. 11, 1962 at EMI's Abbey Road Studios, London, England. On this version Andy White plays drums and Ringo Starr plays maracas. It was written by Paul McCartney during the spring of 1962 while Paul McCartney was in Hamburg, Germany with George Harrison, Pete Best and John Lennon.
About the Canada recordings of LOVE ME DO :
Capitol Records Canada pressed 170 singles which were released on Feb. 4, 1963 with catalog #72076. The ultra rare first 45 rpm pressings (170 of them, only 88 actually sold) released on Feb. 4, 1963 in Canada on Capitol 72076, were the first record issued in all of North America credited to The Beatles on Capitol RecordsThese first pressings can be identified by the slightly larger hand written matrix number 7XCE 17144 and 7XCE 17145 with no dash and no number following the matrix number. The orange swirl on the front of the 45 is also said to have been slightly more brownish then the ones released after this date. This is probably not one of the original 170 pressings, since there are dash numbers after the matrix number. "7XCE-17144-6" ( Side A ) and "7XCE-1745-7" ( Side B ) are etched on the run-out of the groove.
There would be no more Canadian Capitol 72076 pressings until 1967 when Capitol Canada reissued most of the Beatles' singles catalogue and those are easy to identify because of the brackets around the word (Canada) on the label's perimeter print.
The 45 you are viewing has no brackets around the word Canada, so it is probably a second/third pressing dating from 1963.
