VINYL Side 1 is pretty close to NM, but side 2 has some ugly scrape marks (they look like they might have happened in manufacture) which look like game-over, but they are actually not audible at all, hence the VG+. There is one sounding parallel mark on B4 which fffts for a split second. I just played the whole album through and it sounds fabulous, with nothing else to report apart from some light crackle in a few quiet spots. What a beautiful album.
LABELS have a couple small age spots and some spindle wear.
SLEEVE is in great shape, with just some slight dulling of the shine at top and bottom of front ring and negligible corner wear. It's got a couple of crease spots along the spine but they don't stop the spine looking sharp and new. No tears, splits, writing or ugliness, all around it looks great.
INNER is original generic white sleeve. No splits, tears, or writing.

This is a great copy of a fairly obscure and underrated Eno project from the same year as Music For Airports.

Good luck and thanks for looking.

I will ship ASAP upon receipt of payment. All records are removed from their jackets and placed in a fresh, poly-lined inner sleeve to avoid knifing or scuffing in transit. Records and sleeves are placed in a fresh HDPE outer sleeve, sandwiched between two cardboard stiffeners and sent in a sturdy cardboard mailer. All records are from my own personal collection. I’m not a record dealer, just a careful collector.

Images are of the exact object you are bidding on. If you have any question about the item please ask.

If you disagree with my grading for any reason please let me know as soon as possible and I will do what I can to make it right. Please do NOT leave negative or neutral feedback without giving me an opportunity to sort out any problem that might arise. Oversights and differences of opinion happen from time to time, but I’m an honest grader and want all buyers to be happy.

I offer a no-quibble return policy. If you believe an item to have been misdescribed just let me know you’re sending it back and I will reimburse for the item and return postage when it arrives (provided it returns in the same condition in which it was sent). If you’ve just changed your mind about wanting it, that’s ok too, but please be honest and cover return postage yourself.

I can combine postage for multiple items but you'll have to wait for an invoice from me before paying.

GRADING:

I grade conservatively and do my best to list every flaw that might be of concern. I do not use a thousand + signs or exclamation points. I also don’t believe in grading anything M which is not brand new and still sealed. My highest grade for a used record is NM.

NM
Almost like new. The item shows little or no visible or audible signs of use. No scratches, bumps, splits, or creases beyond what you might find on a new record, with everything present and in nearly-new condition. Some natural ageing of materials may be allowed (such as yellowing of paper or laminate shrinkage), but not if it is the result of bad storage. This is what a record might look like after it’s come home from the shop, been played with great care a few times and stored away in a safe place.

NM- / EX+

EX
Vinyl retains its original lustre, but may have a little spindle wear or superficial sleeve marks, without any significant lessening of sound quality. Faint marks which are not obvious at a passing glance and which do not sound are allowed. Jackets or inners may have minor creasing, bumping or laminate lift but are basically unmarred by any careless handling. No tears or splits, with spine and corners in sharp and clean shape. A small and unobtrusive bit of writing may be allowed. All items are present (inners, inserts, etc.). This is the grade I myself am usually very happy with. Very, very well looked after and a pleasure to behold.

EX- / VG+

VG
Record has been fairly well looked after but suffered some visible or audible wear along the way. Minor scuffs, scratches or surface noise may be noticeable but will not significantly impact on the listening experience. Briefly repeating ticks or a moderate build up of noise in some parts of a record may be allowed, but no ugly skips or jumps. Spindle wear will likely be evident but not excessive. Equally, wear to the jacket might include visible ringwear, minor tearing, some writing or moderate staining, but nothing hideous. This grade I personally find acceptable for those older, rarer or sturdier-made items which have been around the block but are still a good listen and a pleasure to have around. They aren’t trashed, just a little more loved on.

VG- / G+

G
This grade is for items that have suffered damage that affects listening pleasure, such as a loud scratch or any kind of skip or jump, or which have visible damage that is ugly to look at, such as staining damage, significant spine wear, shelfwear or rubbing, ugly sticker tears or splits, etc. I would only offer particularly scarce or collectable items in this condition. The record is still playable and may be very enjoyable and acceptable to some. But usually not to me.

New to this?
Please note that even brand new vinyl has surface noise. The best-looked-after records always have a bit of audible noise, it’s just part of their character. But a well-loved record will also sound great after a ton of plays if it’s been properly taken care of.
