So, what am I offering in this special offering?
A RARE TREAT!!!!
I am beginning to list the very last of my LOST LENNON TAPES shows that I have been hoarding away since they have become so rare.
Most collectors of THE LOST LENNON TAPES shows have stopped listing them and you rarely see them anymore. That is because, like all other quality shows, they are no longer available.
The syndication market is a good one but everything is sent digitally now to the stations and no longer on CD. Radio shows were first syndicated on reel to reel tape, later on lp stereo discs (still the best fidelity), then CD's and now digitally. Collectors can no longer get their hands on this quality material so the ones that are available keep going up and up in value. Don't worry, though, I will always sell my shows at reasonable prices. I am a collector too and know how hard it is to find a good deal anymore.
These shows are super old and super rare . They are distributed by Westwood One Radio Networks in a beautiful high quality presentation.
First of all the album cover is magnificent.
And the lps, on Audiophile lp's, are printed with special labels.
The show is on TWO LP's for best fidelity even though it was an one hour weekly show.
It comes in new condition and comes with its cue sheet in excellent condition.
Each show had a different theme and within that theme you will hear many Beatles tunes, many in rare out takes and alternative versions, in depth interviews with Beatles experts, and stories you just haven't heard before.
In fact this show is known for its rare interviews and behind the scenes information that you will not find on any other show featuring the Beatles.
The project of THE LOST LENNON TAPES was approved by Yoko Ono herself. Please read below
The Lost Lennon Tapes was an American music documentary series presented by , comprising a three-hour premiere episode and 218 one-hour episodes, broadcast on between 24 January 1988 and 29 March 1992.The premiere episode features an introduction from John Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono, explaining why she chose to give Westwood One Radio access to the tapes on which the shows' content is based. She described the selection of Elliot Mintz as the presenter not so much as a choice, but a "karmic destiny", as Mintz had been a close friend of the Lennons for some time.
The Lost Lennon Tapes was a weekly one-hour radio show that ran on the Westwood One Radio Network from 1988-1992. It was distributed to stations each week on two LPs (except the three-hour premiere show which was on five LPs). It was also broadcast on their satellite feed Mondays from 7:30pm-8:30pm Pacific Time.
The original theme of the show was to air unreleased recordings John had made. Those recordings were bootlegged onto a 35-volume set of LPs on Bag Records, and also onto a 22-volume CD set, both of which omit the interviews, commentary, and repeated airings of the same recording.
John & Yoko's longtime friend Elliot Mintz was the host of most episodes in the series. When it ended in March 1992, it was followed up by a series called The Beatle Years, which was distributed on CD.
As one would expect, most of the best unreleased material was aired in the first year or two. After some time, the series would often use many commonly available recordings in each show, instead of packing it with unreleased material. But some items were held back so that even in the last year there was material aired that had not been heard before.
HERE'S ANOTHER EXTRA!!! I can attest for you that these shows were only played one time and then stored away until now. They come from an FM station in California. The General Manager of the station has kept them after broadcast for years, stored at his station. He finally decided to sell his collection because of needed upgrades to his station that required significant funds.
I have bought his entire collection of great shows going back over the past 25 years of music radio show syndication. These shows have come direct from one time airplay to a air conditioned climate controlled environment as you know radio stations have to be because of the sensitive electronic equipment, to me, and now to you.
I did this to complete the holes in my own collection for the shows that I collect and hope to break even selling the shows I do not need or do not collect. It was an all or nothing deal but one I needed to make for my collection. You collectors know just what I am talking about. I may make a few bucks on the sale of these shows but basically will get my original purchase price back. It is like picking the shows off the shelf from the factory when you get these shows.
I am proud to offer you an opportunity to have some of these rare old shows for your own collection. You will especially love them if you are a fan of the Beatles and of rare classic material
This show is 90-48 and aired on NOVEMBER 26, 1990
The themes of this show are: " THE FANS"
Check the cue sheet in the listing picture for exact contents!
IT IS A UNIQUE AND RARE OUTING OF THE SHOW. IT IS A SUPER RARE AND FASCINATING SHOW AND IT BELONGS IN YOUR COLLECTION IT IS AN AMAZING LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF THE BEATLES.
You will love every song and rare, unique interview and fun fact that you hear in this hour tribute.
It is a great show and the interviews themselves are worth the cost of the show and more. Don't you wish we could return to those innocent days when the music was so wonderful and the times were more fun!
You will hear wonderful songs, many of which you have not heard in a long time. And they are all there for you along with interviews from people intimate with the Beatles.
You will hear stories that you never heard before from the people who were there.
This series has almost as many interview time as music time and the interviews are with people who were there! (Some people not familiar with the series have asked me why there are often so few songs in each hour show and I reply that it is because of the lengthy interviews that are contained in every show.
Each hour is like a mini documentary.)
Please remember that every radio show that I sell is the original show sent to stations. Each show comes from my personal collection of thousands of radio shows of every genre. Stations could use the show anytime during that weekend and then any remaining shows ended up available to us all to enjoy. You are truly buying a show that will only increase in value and I am selling them exactly for what I paid for it.
The show comes with its original national commercials including
Sears Discover Card TGI Fridays Trident Gum and more
Remember, the radio shows that you see on eBay are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining.
As well, it is a piece of radio and music history. You just aren't going to find these shows around very much longer as everything now is digitized and downloaded for play and shows are no longer sent out on CD's. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price. It is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection.
