This is the original deep-groove RVG-stamped “P”-pressing of Freddie Redd “Shades of Redd” on the West 63rd St. labels of Blue Note BLP 4045. Other than a lightly audible non-intrusive needle drop on Side 2, Track 2, the playing surface is as new, with a high luster; perhaps played once; “Review Copy” stamped on Side 1 label. The laminated New York 23 cover is bright and clean throughout; 1” bump and ¼” wear at the lower right corner; light moisture stain at the right edge of the back slick.
