Free Shipping to U.S.
Up for sale is...........
a scarce 1943 issue, 78 rpm record album
titled "Ski
Time Jingles"
“A
Collection of Alpine SKIING Songs played by
Eastern Slope Inn Orchestra”
This is the original Decca release “Album No. 343, 18M Series”
Issued as a 4-record set, this album is missing one record, so it has three 10-inch records (6 sides/songs).
The original folder, which describes each tune in detail, is present.
The folder also describes the Eastern Slope Inn Orchestra, and the North Conway New Hampshire skiing opportunities as stimulated by Hannes Schneider* “who has contributed so much to the technique of good skiing , and who is now the lodestar that is making the Eastern Slope of New Hampshire one of the great ski centers in the country.”
*From the internet: “He first observed skiing in 1900, and in 1903 obtained an authentic pair of skis… In 1907 he became a ski guide at the Hotel Post in St. Anton, Austria. In 1939 he moved his operations to North Conway, New Hampshire - He had run into trouble with Nazi policies and even spent time in jail …. During the Second World War he helped train the 10th Mountain Division of the U. S. Army in which his son Herbert served. Hannes became a member of the US Ski Hall of Fame in 1958.”
Songs Include:
The Song of The Ski
Memories of Skiland
Winter is Fun - Waltz
Skiing Echoes
Down The Rattlesnake Trail - Polka
Goat Shepherd's Song
Missing is: Ski Romance / Skimobile Polka
The album cover is in good overall condition with moderate wear and some soiling.
The discs appear to be in very good condition. I have not played them. See photos.
As noted above, one of the four records that was issued with this album, is missing.
The included folder is in good condition, free of tears, but with some staining.
