I am selling this for a friend who is liquidating an estate that had some great albums. I will be listing 19 original Blue Note Albums this week and I have about 100 more great collectible albums that I plan to list in coming weeks so watch my listings. I am not a professional dealer but I have done my best to accurately describe this. Please review the detailed description and pictures and email any questions.
This is A Date With Jimmy Smith Volume 1 Blue Note 1547 originally released in May 1957. The label has the NY23 address and the label has the W63 address. The RVG is etched on both sides. There is a deep groove on both sides, the Plastylite P or ear on both sides, and 9M on both sides. Side 1 reads BN LP 1547A and Side 2 reads BN LP 1547B 1. The vinyl has a flat rim. There is a blank spine and the cover is laminated.
A reference source indicates that the Blue Note releases on the liner notes goes to BLP 1546 (and it does). The liner notes themselves refer to BLP 1548 that was released a few months after this release. That release features Lou Donaldson who also plays on this records so I suspect that they are simply promoting an upcoming release. To the best of my knowledge this is the very first release but I address this just for accuracy.
Shipping is $10 in the 48 states with insurance and $40 for registered international shipping. I will accept returns if not as described. Returns are at the buyer's expense. Please advise immediately if there is a problem.
I am not doing a buy it now and I will not end this early. The bidders will decide what this is worth. Please email with any questions. Thanks
