This is the original deep-groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Lee Morgan “Volume 3” on the New York 23 labels of Blue Note BLP 1557. The flat rim playing surface shows a noticeable loss of luster and frequent use, with many inaudible handling marks and scuffs; however, true to the reputation of these older Blue Notes that can sustain wear while retaining excellent sound quality, this record proves the point, with clean and vibrant undistorted sound throughout. The laminated West 63rd cover is in excellent condition throughout, with just three small chips along the spine – one 1/8” chip at the top and bottom and ¼” chip at the center; 2” stain at the top left corner of the back slick.
