Before the concept of "world music" was popularized, West coast psychedelic folk-rockers Kaleidoscope (not to be confused with the British and Mexican `60s bands of the same name) melded an eclectic variety of international influences into their exotic sound. Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-sounding instruments and melodies mix with folk, rock, and blues flavors on their 1968 sophomore effort, with yeomanlike work on the part of guitar whiz David Lindley, who would later become Jackson Browne's famous musical foil.
