HP Lovecraft was an American rock band formed in Chicago in 1967, and named after H.P Lovecraft, the horror writer and whose music combined both psychedelia and folk rock. In June 68 the band decamped to ID Sound Studios in LA with engineer Chris Huston to record their second album, HP Lovecraft Vol II. Huston was responsible for creating many of the albums sound effects and although it was less focused than its predecessor, it managed to successfully expand on the musical approach of the band's first album. Among its nine tracks, the album included "At the Mountains of Madness", another song based on the works of the author H. P. Lovecraft.
The album, while popular failed to sell in any great volume, but has since become a classic of its age over the years.

Sleeve: fully laminated sleeve which retains its original gloss. Shows signs of light age related handling, some creases, corner scuff on opening edge primarily related to shelf removal/handling, readable spine. Clean back. All sounds worse than it is - see photos for clarification - graded VG+

Labels: Clean no writing etc, a couple of small spider lines only (see photos), solid VG+ or better

Vinyl: Visually, the vinyl retains its original gloss, light play; light wispy lines and small surface marks/lines, non feel-able and primarily only visible under a light, nothing that effects play, graded EX-

Audio: a nice crisp recording, with no interruptions: no pips or pops, there is very light static in between tracks, nothing more, probably benefit from a pro-clean, hence graded EX-

I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have good feedback (and positive comments) as both a buyer and seller, so you can buy with confidence. I am a collector of 45+ years the few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again. If anything is not as expected, please contact me straight away, and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.

I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
