JOBRIATH As The River Flows Orig VINYL LP SEALED MINT 🎸 Killer 70s Glam Rock ♫ His last studio album dropped almost 40 years ago, but Jobriath's time may finally have come. 2014 has been a year of reckoning for rock's first openly gay major-label artist, a glam-era victim of overhype and prejudice. Kieran Turner's acclaimed feature documentary Jobriath A.D. brought Jobriath's tragic story to film festivals worldwide, and on June 17, New York's Eschatone Records will release As The River Flows, a full-length LP featuring long-lost Jobriath tracks from 1971. The never-before-released Jobriath material which makes up As The River Flows is culled from two 1971 sessions: one at New York's Electric Lady (with guest appearances by members of the original Broadway cast of Hair) and another recorded in Los Angeles by legendary production team Richie Podolor and Bill Cooper (Three Dog Night, Steppenwolf). These latter tracks feature Jobriath alone at the piano and are truly exquisite, an improvisational, witty and heartbreaking performance that shows of Jobriath's piano, vocal and star performing chops.
