"SCAFFOLD- L. THE P."
1969 ENGLAND Parlophone PCS 7077 label
The condition of the cover is VG+. The condition of the STEREO disc is M- and it plays great!
The first studio album by the Scaffold 'L the P' (presumably named after Lily The Pink) was issued in 1969 (the first album 'Live at the Queen Elizabeth Hall' was released in 1968). Despite being 50 years old this record is in great condition with no marks on the vinyl or label (only a few light spindle marks can be seen). Although many mono versions have been offered for sale in the past not many stereo ones come up. The stereo mix is the rarer of the two as there are many variances for example on Lily The Pink, the "nah nah" backing on the Jennifer Eccles is not present. According to the book 'Beatles Undercover' Paul McCartney (group member Mike McGear is Paul's real life brother!) was involved with the two tracks 'Stop Blowing Those Charity Bubbles' and 'Lily The Pink'. Side one of the album is all songs (7) and side two comprises of humorous sketches and poems (recorded live at EMI studios).
Rather strangely only the back of the sleeve is laminated and hence the white front of the sleeve show signs of its 50 years along with some seam/edge wear (see photographs). However I do not think this distracts from the other great condition of the album. It comes complete with the original 1969 EMI inner sleeve advertising albums including those by the Beatles, Pink Floyd etc. The label bears the "Sold In the U.K. ..." notice.
