David Bowie Rehearsals for the 1980 Floor Show. Very rare DVD box set.. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Package. Please note. This is an unofficial release bought at a Record Fair. The cardboard outer box is strong, sturdy and tight but has multiple surface marks that can be seen in a certain light. The inner DVD plastic slip cases are equally marked but the Bowie picture inserts/ track listings are in very good condition. The DVDs have some surface marks but I’ve watched all 10 hours recently and they play perfectly, guaranteed. As this is an unofficial release, each disc has a time code at the bottom of the screen and this runs throughout the playing time. Picture quality is variable, but always watchable. It is typical of the better quality unofficial DVD releases you can buy at record fairs. However, please don’t expect official release sound and picture quality, as this is one for keen fans, and those who understand how unofficial fan made products work. The actual material itself is staggering! Seeing Bowie perform multiple takes of iconic songs is a treat! You also hear him chat to the audience and banter between takes and rehearsals. It’s like being a fly on the wall at a legendary Bowie show. Please note, the other artists, e.g. Marianne Faithful, also perform multiple takes on the DVDs, so it’s not just Bowie but his guests. It’s all fascinating and totally rare! UK buyers only please.
On 15-Apr-19 at 12:09:40 BST, seller added the following information:To those who have asked, the actual DVDs themselves look as good as any from a professional retailer. They are not copies and they have a printed label on one side with an image of Bowie.
This item really is a one off. I’ve scoured eBay and other selling sites for it, and couldn’t find it anywhere. I don’t use the term rare loosely and this is very rare indeed. It’s Bowie in his supercool prime and it lasts for 10 hours! It’s great to watch him rehearse, interact with his band, chat to the audience and generally be very cool without even trying.
