DISC

Labels: MINT -

A beautiful pair bearing just two faint spindle trails around the side 2 centre hole, but none at all on label 1.

Visual: Side 1: EXCELLENT + Side 2: EXCELLENT

Both playing surfaces retain all of their factory-fresh deep-gloss shine. This disc has clearly only been out of its cover a couple of times in the past 56 years. There is a light surface line on side 2 over the last 3 tracks but this is not feelable and does not affect sound. The only other visual blemish is a 1cm scratch just at the start of track 1 on side 2 which being virtually horizontal, only covers a couple of grooves. Apart from these minor flaws, this is an exceptional looking disc which would be hard to upgrade.

Audio: MINT -

Overall this is a wonderful sounding disc. Our careful play-check at volume detected only 2 light clicks at the start of 'Love Me Do' and two further ticks just after the harmonica solo in the same song. All other tracks play flawlessly with no crackle or groove/playwear in either channel and all bands between tracks play silently. Tough to find a better sounding copy.

Cover: EXCELLENT +

A very well-preserved example, especially as these early G&L covers deteriorated quickly and were easily blemished. The front panel here is clean & glossy with just a hint of storage and a single 'thumbnail' wrinkle only. The cover's only significant blemish is a small scuff on the lower edge. All corners are sharp and square and both opening edges are clean & unworn. The exposed rear panel is pristine and totally unblemished by handling or age. All flipbacks, both seams and the fully worded spine are in perfect condition, making this cover a hard one to upgrade.

Inner-sleeve: MINT -

A few tiny age-spots but this one is as good as these fragile components get.
