This classic needs no introduction. Townsend’s operatic credentials were reinforced on this opus. Daltrey’s soaring octaves with force and pathos, Pete’s crackling fretwork, Entwhistle’s pounding bass and Keith’s manic but controlled drumming all blend to create one of pop’s defining fin-de-siècle moments before glam rock & punk & Quadrophenia hit our eardrums.
The LP’s been well cared-for, and the only blemish appears to be the crease in the booklet. The vinyl appears excellent and I know the owner generally played LPs once, taped then stored. I’m selling for the late owner’s family to raise funds for a commemoration to their brother.
