Frank Sinatra 16 LPs Audiophile Boxed Set with GeoDisc turntable alignment aid, in very good condition. I’ve owned this set for years, and have never tried to play any of the records. As far as I know, none of the records have ever been played. I'm not going to try and play any now, for fear that might damage them. I can’t call it new because it’s not in the original cellophane, so I’m listing it as "used," but the condition of the records, their sleeves, and the GeoDisc is mint so far as I can tell.

The silver-colored outer case is in what I'd call decent shape, especially for something that was manufactured out of cardboard in 1983. It has a few small marks and dings like you can see in pic 1. The biggest issue is shown in pic 12: The paper hinge of the door flap has developed a tear a couple of inches long, as shown in the photo.

A small plaque indicates this is pressing 2073 of a numbered edition of these uber-classic Capitol recordings by The Chairman of the Board himself. There were only 10,000 made, back in 1983. According to my internet research, the pressings were done by the Victor Company, Ltd., of Japan, with Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab of Chicago, IL, credited as "manufacturer." (What the difference between a presser and a manufacturer of vinyl LPs might be, I cannot say; perhaps audiophiles will understand the distinction? I'm just relaying the fruits of my research into how this set came to be.) Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (known as "MoFi" uses a half-speed mastering process). MoFi has its own wikipedia article so if you're curious you can look it up there to read more about the technical aspects of these "Original Master Recordings" in which the company specializes.

In sum, this is a true audiophile and "Frank-o-phile" collector's item, and is especially well suited for those who have the premium, old-school turntable setup needed to "spin the black circle" and listen to these Original Master Recordings in the vinyl format through which Sinatra's timeless artistry was originally captured for a fortunate listening posterity.

Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding or making an offer! I AM SELLING THIS SET AS IS. THE SALE IS FINAL. NO RETURNS.
