"The main thrust of Inferno stopped in 1980 when the Northern scene imploded. Bill and Gary left and I went back to my former job as a newspaper reporter. The success in 1981 of Soft Cell covering "Tainted Love" meant I could pay off the overdraft the business had run up, I still had UK rights to the Gloria Jones original version and re-issued it on 7-inch, and came up with a 12-inch single as well. Encouraged by this, in between looking for headlines at work, I picked up the rights to Dobie Gray "Out On The Floor" and if it had not been for a problem with the way the pop charts were compiled the week of release I would have had a hit from my kitchen table! Having success with the single "Out On The Floor" could have led to me coming up with a second Out On The Floor Tonight, but it didn't. Here, then, finally is Part Two.
