This is often considered the very first time reference to LSD was printed outside medical journals of the mid-1950s. And not just ‘ LSD’ but the very distinct reference to LSD-25 - that was being experimented with by the oppressed youth culture of post- war America. Coffee house trippers and beats ( precursor to hippies)
In any case, hardcore garage band here - precursors to surf rock circa 1960.... my understanding is when this record came out as a single , it was a great influencer to surf rock bands still practicing in their garages especialy to old timers folks I spoke to in Southern California where I live—/listening to it and SURFING AT Malibu, Huntington, and down San Onofre this 1960 single by the Gamblers was definitely an influencer ... 1963 we begin to see the results by DEL-FI
