Bill Evans Trio at Shelly's Manne-Hole - Part of the Analogue Productions' 45 RPM, this 2lp edition is sealed and near mint! (or mint? Please see below). This is LOW #0272. One of my all-time favorite Evans' titles; seriously underrated. BTW, AP's recent reissue of Bill Evans at the Montreux Jazz Festival is phenomenal, and worth grabbing before it goes out of print.
Condition: This is a tough one to describe because there is no particular flaw to point out or photograph. However, the top of the lp's rear does not look perfect to me...BUT as you can see in Picture 4, the sealed copy looks EXACTLY like my open "listening" copy (seen in front of the copy on offer here). In other words, this is how the covers were manufactured, and this particular copy has not suffered ANY trauma. Most folks wouldn't hesitate to call this "mint," but I'd rather you not feel disappointed when you see the LP so I'm being VERY conservative in my grading.
Here's your chance to get this out of print rarity at a fair market price!
ABOUT 45 RPM PRESSINGS
While some folks don't like the 45 RPM format (yes, you do have to get up and change sides more often), it's not hype: with more vinyl real estate for your stylus to operate within, volume levels are maintained consistently across all tracks (with 33 1/3, as you get closer to the inner groove you will lose volume because the grooves get smaller), and there's LOTS more room for the bass frequencies. A mastering engineer has to juggle all these factors, usually leading to certain compromises, when pressing at 33 1/3. The common wisdom in the audiophile community is that, when done well, 45 rpm pressings are as close as you'll get to the master tape.
About Me: I'm a long time Ebay buyer intent on selling a significant portion of my LP collection over the next year or two (or three!). I believe in the auction process, so I'm NOT going to list records at absurdly high prices, and I look forward to getting rare, out of print records into the hands of music lovers, record collectors and audiophiles (I consider myself all of the above). All LPS stored in a smoke-free, climate controlled environment.
Please check my feedback and BID WITH CONFIDENCE. Also, please take a look at other items I'm listing (including Buy-It-Now, high quality titles at bargain prices), and good luck!
