GRAMOPHONE CONCERT RECORD-10-12701 Demotic Greek kleftic ballads with solo flute from 1907 G.C.R.-10-12700 unlisted male artist "Kleftopoula"/"Roumeliotika" (Chant Des Montagnes) in V condition. This disc, probably recorded in 1907 or 1908, features a male singer with accompaniment by a solo floyera, or flute. Both songs are kleftic ballads or, as they were labeled in French, "songs of the mountain (bandits)." Rare in any condition, this V copy plays surprisingly strong. Recorded in Athens, the label bears the faint imprint of an Ottoman era stamp, likely impressed in Smyrna for import purposes.
