The recordings are from the original 24 track masters making this a very fine sounding recording.This concert on March 1st 1980 showcases Jerry Garcia on fire. Around this time Jerry was showing extreme enthusiasm and several concerts from this time stand out as extremely special.Every song has incredible energy with two songs featuring Jerry's lyricist and friend Robert Hunter. Also included is an incredible bass solo from John Kahn on "Russian Lullaby".I can't stress enough how unique and impressive these two performances (early and late show) are.

Banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck plays on two songs, "Midnight Moonlight" and "The Harder They Come". Bela brings a wonderful vibe and energy to this performance. It is obvious his contributions are well accepted by the band making for a great time.
