The Three Blind Mice 45 Box - Impex Records' Six LP 45rpm limited box set of some of the most sought after titles from the legendary Japanese jazz label Three Blind Mice. Features: BLOW UP, MIDNIGHT SUGAR, & MISTY, each pressed as 2LP 45 rpm editions. Incredible "you are there" sonics! ABOUT 45 RPM PRESSINGS
While some folks don't like the 45 RPM format (yes, you do have to get up and change sides more often), it's not hype: with more vinyl real estate for your stylus to operate within, volume levels are maintained consistently across all tracks (with 33 1/3, as you get closer to the inner groove you will lose volume because the grooves get smaller), and there's LOTS more room for the bass frequencies. A mastering engineer has to juggle all these factors, usually leading to certain compromises, when pressing at 33 1/3. The common wisdom in the audiophile community is that, when done well, 45 rpm pressings are as close as you'll get to the master tape.
