Wow, here's a rare, authentic survivor of recordings circa the Spanish Civil War!
Here, I'm offering a three-disc album of 78-rpm, 10-inch records. This is "Songs For Democracy: Discos de las Brigadas Internacionales," or, literally, discs (AKA records, recordings, songs) of the International Brigade.
These are songs written by participants in the tragic Spanish Civil War of the 1930s, including prisoners -- and recorded in Barcelona in 1938.
They're sung by Ernest Busch and feature the choir and the orchestra of the 11th Spanish Brigade. Album was released in 1940 and features a terrific line drawing on the cover, by H. Willard.
Songs are "Los Cuatro Generales" b/w "Lied Der Einheitsfront"; "Lied Der Inter-brigaden" b/w "Die Thaelmann-kolonne"; and "Hans Beimler b/w "Lied Der Moorsoldaten."
This album is in generally good-very good condition but it is untested. Discs have no cracks or breaks. Sleeve has wear and loss as shown but is generally still very solid.
