The JT album is all around great. Sweet Baby and One Man Dog have splits on the cover sides (see photo) Both of the vinyls on those two have some static between songs. Still an overall good listen.

Released in February 1970, the album includes one of Taylor's earliest successful singles: "", which reached number three on the . The album itself reached number three on the . Sweet Baby James made Taylor one of the main forces of the ascendant singer-songwriter movement. The album was nominated for a , in 1971. The album was listed at number 104 on 's . In 2000 it was voted number 228 in 's .

One Man Dog is the fourth by singer-songwriter . Released on November 1, 1972, it features the hit "", which peaked at number 14 on the on January 13, 1973. The follow-up single, "", also charted but less successfully, peaking at number 67 in the US and reaching number 55 on the Canadian Adult Contemporary chart. The basic tracks were primarily recorded in Taylor's home studio.
