This is the rare original 1958 first pressing of the Chantels’ We Are the Chantels LP on End 301. Features the rare original “plantation” cover that was changed for all subsequent pressings. This copy is worn but plays surprisingly well. The disc has lots of marks and scuffs but none are especially deep. Lots of mainly surface marks, and this is a deep-groove pressing so after an ultrasound cleaning this thing actually plays pretty well. All the songs play clearly and the music is generally much louder than the background noise. Mainly it is only heard between songs, and remarkably isn’t so bad. Really a thoroughly enjoyable copy. The cover is split all around, but has been taped together. Some of the tape has come off but there are still a couple of spots where it is holding the front and back together. Even with the splits and the edge and corner wear it is still a nice looking copy with the amazing photo and all the info on the back intact. A much better copy than at first it seems...
