The Beatles ABBEY ROAD 1st UK Press MISALIGNED APPLE SLEEVE No 'Her Majesty', with original inner. EX/EX. 1 MOTHER TO SIDE 1.

Complete and original, with one window black inner, misaligned Apple, and no ‘Her Majesty’ to side 2 label.

PLAY TESTED. NOVEMBER 19TH. EXCELLENT AUDIO. ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS OR JUMPS.

It plays beautifully, minimum excellent throughout. Light surface noise on intros/run-ins, but then gloriously quiet, with barely any crackle or pop during/between tracks. Even the quieter moments of this superb record are as they should be, and I suspect it’s been very lightly played over the years. Excellent.

Visually, it’s also excellent. Lovely and glossy, and it sits flat on the turntable, and other than some very minor marks to side 1, which are really only visible under angled light, I’d describe it as excellent ++. Side 2 is again, even under angled light, excellent++

PCS 7088 Stereo, September 1969.

Fully laminated cover without flaps on the back side, printed by Garrod & Lofthouse, and of course this first press cover, has the misaligned Apple to the rear, and the first press covers also have a mild green tint.

The pressing also has dark green labels, with the first variant having ‘An EMI Recording’ text on two lines and a small ‘33 1/3’ text to the left side. Publishing year printed with small copyright symbol (p). Of course, the label also omits ‘Her Majesty’ on side 2. The matrix numbers are YEX 749-2 & YEX 750-1.

THE SLEEVE. EXCELLENT++

The sleeve is in superb condition, super glossy, with no laminate lifting, and very little creasing. Very minor ringing to top front, but really only visible under angled light. There is no spine wear, no edge wear, is clean to both front and back, has strong sharp corners, with the Apple logo clearly and obviously misaligned to the rear.

LABELS: EXCELLENT ++

Labels to both sides are again superb. There’s a tiny crease below ‘George Martin’ to side 2, and very light/again, barely visible spindle wear to both sides. Excellent.

ORIGINAL ONE WINDOW BLACK INNER. Good +

Very few copies have survived with an original black inner, but thus has. It does though have some creasing and sadly a seam split/tare to the right hand side to about half-way down. However, it’s free of any other defects, and is an original inner nine the less. Good +

In conclusion, this is a lovely, original first press with an overall grading of excellent +. I do though tend to be quite conservative in my gradings/descriptions, as being a collector myself, I appreciate that accurate and honest grading is paramount. Thus, I retain a 100% positive feedback rating, so rest assured, you can bid with confidence.
