PLAY TESTED NOVEMBER 12TH. EXCELLENT AUDIO.
ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS, JUMPS, OR STICKING.
OVERALL AUDIO: EXCELLENT.
1 MOTHER TO SIDE 1.
The Beatles: Rubber Soul 1st Mono Press ‘Loud Cut' (original Emitex inner). Excellent audio. Times New Roman font typeset.
This is the original first press ‘loud cut’ edition of this truly seminal album, in the original tracing-paper lined Emitex inner sleeve, in a front laminated flip-back Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve, with black labels, yellow logo, and silver print. ‘Gramophone’ perimeter rim text, and ‘Sold In U.K.’ to labels. These are the variation B ‘Times New Roman’ font typeset, which for the most part, was used on one-sided/crossover presses. How many had this font, with both loud-cut matrixes isn’t known, but this is certainly one of them. Very rare? The distinguishing feature of this particular font style, being that the * credit indicator is spaced away from the song title.
Matrix Numbers:
Side 1: YEX 579-1
Mother: 1
Stamper: HT
Side 2: YEX 580-1
Mother: 3
Stamper: LT (scratched out below ‘L’).
Vinyl description: (Visual) VG+
Some light hairlines/marks/scratches, but absolutely nothing significant or feelable. Nothing that adversely affects the audio.
Playback:
EXCELLENT.
ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS, JUMPS OR STICKING.
Very light surface noise/crackle on side 1 and side 2 intros, but then barely a click. Beautifully quiet during the notoriously affected ‘Michelle’. Very light clicks during the run-out/dead wax. An overall audio grading of excellent.
Thus, playback is clean on both sides, and quiet between tracks. Absolutely no skips or jumps throughout, with an overall audio experience of excellent.
Vinyl appearance. VG+
Side 1 has light marks/hairlines. Nothing heavy/feelable, and absolutely nothing to interfere with playback.
Side 2 as side 1.
Labels: VG+
These are the Variation B, Times New Roman font pressings. Most pressings with Times New Roman font, are crossover.
Side 1, is clean, no graffiti, some/little spindle ware.
Side 2 as above, though with ‘K Barber’ in pen to the right of the £ sign. Also with embossed KT tax code.
Sleeve. VG++ (Garrod & Lofthouse)
The front laminated G&L flip-back sleeve is minimum VG+.
Signs of some very minor creasing to the right of Paul’s ear, and above the left eye of Ringo.
No laminate lifting, no lifting of the flip-backs, and little sign of yellowing throughout.
The rear has the name ‘K Barber’ below top flip-back. Very minor scuffs/age ware, but very little, with clearly defined sharp corners, and a beautifully strong clearly legible spine.
Emitex Inner: Excellent.
Tracing paper lined original Emitex inner is in excellent condition, with no seam splits, rips or tares. Excellent.
I’d describe the overall condition of the item as excellent, though with excellent audio. I do though tend to be quite conservative in my descriptions, and would rather under play the condition, than leave buyers disappointed.
Please view all photos, as they form part of the description. More available upon request.

Immediate payment much appreciated, though not insisted upon. However, if payment is not made within the accepted four day timeframe (unless previously agreed), I will report it to EBay as non-payment, and leave negative feedback. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but non-payment seems to be on the increase, and it’s irritating and time consuming to chase after those who don’t pay on time.
