THE CHURCH – STARFISH LP 33 RPM VINYL FACTORY SEALED
This album was certainly one of the highlights of the 1980s, although it doesn't sound stuck in the '80s as a lot of even the best albums from that period do. It is The Church's most successful album. Most obvious among the brilliant tracks is the well-known "Under the Milky Way." However, the best song on the album is the stunning closer, "Hotel Womb." This is a melodic tour-de-force that includes a fantastic guitar freakout halfway through. Also worth mentioning is the classic rocker "Reptile" and the languid, Pink Floyd-ish "Lost." The opening track,"Destination," sets a haunting mood and contains some of the album's best lyrics. Starfish should be considered an essential listen for any fan of rock music. It captures a legendary band at one of the high points in their long and storied career.
