THE BEATLES: Revolver Vinyl LP 1966 STEREO PCS 7009. XEX605-1 & 606-1. 1 Mother to Side 2. Original EMI Advertising Inner. Audio is Excellent, whilst the G&L flip-back sleeve is minimum VG++

PLAY TESTED MARCH 11TH. ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS OR JUMPS OR STICKING. AUDIO IS EXCELLENT.

First stereo press, of what many critics consider to be The Beatles finest album, with small ‘stereo’ to top right front. The vinyl has a black label with yellow Parlophone logo and silver print. ‘Gramo Co Ltd’ perimeter print, and ‘Sold In U.K.’ text. This pressing is housed in the original advertising inner, in excellent condition, and becoming increasingly difficult to find. KT tax code embossed to side 1, with YEX 605-1 & YEX 606-1 matrix numbers, indicative of the first press. It has the corrected ‘Doctor Robert’ text to side 2, though with ‘Dr Robert’ to the sleeve, with sans serif Arial typeset, with each song title starting on a new line, with each song title followed by song credits, then lead vocalist. Commonly known as Variation B, simply due to the corrected ‘Doctor Robert’ to side 2 label.

VINYL AUDIO. EXCELLENT. ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS, JUMPS OR STICKING. SIDE 1 IS SUPERB.

There’s only very occasional surface noise/static on side 1, with barely any ‘crackle’ during or between tracks. Even the run-in is superb. Slightly more surface noise on side 2 intro/run-in, with a little more frequent occasional surface noise on other tracks, but nothing that overwhelms or spoils what is an excellent audio experience throughout. Excellent.

VINYL APPEARANCE. VG+

Both sides have light marks/scratches/hairlines. Nothing deep or feelable, and nothing that interferes with playback. Side 2 has a more notable mark across tracks 2, 3 & 4, though without it having any noticeable affect on the audio.

LABELS. VG+

Side 1. KT embossed tax code.

Sans-Serif Arial font (see above).

Clean, bright and graffiti free, with a little faint marks/patches to either side, and relatively minor spindle ware; really only seen under angled light.

SLEEVE. VG++ (Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending.)

The front side has very little creasing, other than a little to the right of the spine (front panel); no laminate lifting, and very little scuffing to the well defined corners.

The spine is relatively crease free, strong and easily legible. Again, minimum VG++

The rear panel is again VG++, with just a small, barely visible crease above John, very faint ringing to the left of ‘Revolver’, a tiny scuff/pen mark across PCS (top right) and what looks like some light/faint pen mark across the £ sign (bottom left). The flip-backs are strong and fully in tact, with just the tiniest lifting above ‘made by G&L’. Near excellent.

ORIGINAL EMI ADVERTISING INNER. EXCELLENT.

Early editions of this album, were housed in an EMI advertising inner, and this inner is in excellent condition. There are no rips/tares/seam splits, and just a little creasing/staining. These inners are becoming scarce, and this one is excellent.

So in conclusion, this is an original Stereo 1st press of ‘Revolver’, in its original EMI advertising inner, with excellent audio, in a G&L sleeve, that’s also VG++. An essential edition to any serious Beatle collection.
