THE BEATLES: Revolver Vinyl LP 1966 STEREO PCS 7009. YEX 605-1 & 606-1. 1 Mother both sides. Original EMI Advertising Inner. Audio is Excellent, whilst the G&L flip-back sleeve is VG+.

ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS OR JUMPS OR STICKING.

AUDIO IS EXCELLENT, WITH VERY LITTLE STATC/CRACKLE.

1 MOTHER TO BOTH SIDES.

THUS, A VERY EARLY PRESSING.

First stereo press, of what many critics consider to be The Beatles finest album, with small ‘stereo’ to top right front. The vinyl has a black label with yellow Parlophone logo and silver print. ‘Gramo Co Ltd’ perimeter print, and ‘Sold In U.K.’ text. This pressing is housed in the original advertising inner, in VG++ condition, and becoming increasingly difficult to find. KT tax code embossed to side 2, with YEX 605-1 & YEX 606-1 matrix numbers, indicative of the first press. It has the mis-print Dr. Robert’ text to side 2, and ‘Dr Robert’ to the sleeve, with sans serif Arial typeset, with each song title starting on a new line, with each song title followed by song credits, then lead vocalist. Commonly known as Variation A simply due to the incorrect ‘Dr. Robert’ to side 2 label.

VINYL AUDIO. EXCELLENT. ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS, JUMPS OR STICKING. SIDE 2 IS SUPERB.

There’s only very light surface noise/static on the intro to side 1, with barely any ‘crackle’ during or between tracks. Even less surface noise on side 2, which is superb. It’s a truly excellent audio experience throughout. Have rarely heard better.

VINYL APPEARANCE. VG+

Both sides have light marks/scratches/hairlines. Nothing deep or feelable, and nothing that interferes with playback. Slightly more noticeable mark across Side 2 tracks 4, 5 & 6, but again nothing that affects the audio.

LABELS. VG+

Side 1.

Sans-Serif Arial font (see above).

Generally clean, bright and graffiti free, with a little faint marks/patches to either side, and relatively minor spindle ware; really only seen under angled light.

Side 2.

As side 1. KT embossed tax code.

SLEEVE. VG+ (Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending.)

The front side has some creasing, most noticeable near the spine, and to bottom right corner. No laminate lifting, and just a little scuffing to the corners.

The spine has some creasing, but is relatively strong and easily legible. Again, minimum VG++

The rear panel is again VG+, with some creasing and faint ringing. There are light marks/scuffing elsewhere. The flip-backs are strong, but again with some creasing.

ORIGINAL EMI ADVERTISING INNER. VG.

Early editions of this album, were housed in an EMI advertising inner, and this inner is in VG condition. There are no rips/tares, and just a small seam split to one side, and a little creasing/yellowing through age. These inners are becoming scarce, and this one is very good.

So in conclusion, this is an original Stereo 1st press of ‘Revolver’, in its original EMI advertising inner, with excellent audio, in a G&L sleeve, that’s also VG+. Incorrect ‘Dr. Robert’ to both label and sleeve, and 1 Mother pressing to both sides. An essential edition to any serious Beatle collection.
