This original unpeeled banana VU (East Coast pressing) is in remarkable condition; the gatefold sleeve feels like it's hardly ever been opened, and there are no splits or issues at the edges. But I'm calling it VG + since it does show some ringwear as you see in the photos.
And speaking of conservative grading: there's very little surface noise as I listen to it on a Stax headphone, but the fadeout before the runout groove on (I believe) side 2 has a tick, and there is a slight grindy surface at the beginning of side 1...I would like to call it VG++, but honestly there's a gray area in these grades--VG for instance can be horrible or almost perfect. So I'll understate the condition, and make it VG+ so nobody is disappointed...it's really QUITE very good though!
By the way, what a pleasure it was to hear the LP mastering again--
