Charles Mingus on Atlantic 1237
This is the original deep-groove pressing of Charles Mingus “Pithecanthropus Erectus” on the black and silver labels of Atlantic 1237. The playing surface is in excellent condition, with a nice luster; perhaps played once or twice. The laminated frame cover is also in exceptional condition – bright and clean throughout – with sharp corners and unworn seams. Personnel include Jackie McLean, J.R. Monterose, Mal Waldron, and Willie Jones.
