This is an original 1963 first stereo pressing of the classic Midnight Blue LP by Kenny Burrell on Blue Note 84123. New York labels with Rudy Van Gelder's stamp and the "ear" mark in the runoffs. The disc has quite a few scuffs and marks, but it still plays well with background crackle. No skips, but the crackle is noticeable much of the time. I call it VG- but you could also say G+... hard to differentiate exactly but to me it is a pretty good play despite the wear, so for me it deserves the slightly higher grade. It looks G+, but I think plays a bit better. Much of the time the music is loud enough so that you don't notice the crackling, but not during the quieter tunes. Still it plays without distortion and is reasonably enjoyable. I very much enjoyed the whole record. The cover has some wear as well, with lots of edge and corner wear, light ring wear, and the whole bottom seam is split. Not a great copy but a playable and largely enjoyable original.
