Chief Keef, Pharrell, Saul Williams, Weezer, Syd of The Internet, Joey Purp, The-Dream and Ty Dolla $ign all appear on the album. From a musical standpoint, Vic Mensa drew inspiration from 1990s hip hop while making the album. He recruited No I.D. to executive produce The Autobiography. Mensa is a rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the group Kids These Days, which broke up in May 2013, after which he released his first solo mixtape Innanetape. Mensa is also founder of the hip-hop collective Savemoney which includes frequent collaborator Chance the Rapper.
