This is the original French pressing of Jo Jones “The Drums” on Jazz Odyssey 008. The records appear to be in new, unused condition, with a high luster. The laminated gatefold cover is in excellent condition – bright and clean throughout – with just ¼” wear at the top and bottom edge of the opening. The French and English 12-page illustrated booklet in the gatefold is signed in bold blue marker “Best of luck, Jo Jones”. This set is an important part of jazz history in which Jones discusses drum techniques on Side 1, drummers (Baby Dodds, Gene Krupa, Sid Catlett, etc.) on Side 2, musicians and personalities on Side 3, and plays solos and a duet with Willie The Lion Smith on Side 4. $150.00
