This is the original deep groove RVG-stamped “P”-pressing of Louis Smith “Smithville” on the West 63rd labels of Blue Note BLP 1594. A needle drop on the first track of Side 1 makes four tics, then is quiet for a moment, then makes another eight tics; in all other respects the playing surface is flawless, with a beautiful luster; perhaps played once. The laminated West 63rd St. cover is in excellent condition – bright, clean, and immaculate throughout; 1 ½” of lamination cracking at the top of the spine. Personnel include Charlie Rouse, Sonny Clark, Paul Chambers, and Art Taylor. $1,000.00.
