Van Halen - OU812 Original Pressing Sammy Hagar Vinyl Record LP
Record grade: VG (due to feelable mark on first track)
Jacket Grade: VG
Record has a needle mark across the first track that ticks a couple times before the music starts and then, a bit later, in the song about 20 more times. Other than that, everything is fine—maybe a trace of surface noise audible between tracks and during some quieter passages. Visually, there’s some light sleeve wear and a few insignificant very light marks visible under bright light. It’s a great sounding LP.
The jacket has corner wear and a good bit of creasing, particularly along edges and corners and across Alex’s face. There’s also a small scuff at the top and center of the cover as well as some small scuffs on the spine. There’s also a 1 centimeter seam split on the top edge and a bump on the side that opens. Custom inner sleeve has some creasing and a small seam split.
Listing a lot of Heavy Metal this week. If you purchase more than one item from me, please wait for an invoice as I will combine shipping.
I grade LPs based on a conservative interpretation of the Goldmine standard. This means that a VG+ record is in very nice shape and should have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. A record with sustained surface noise will be at best a VG. All records are play-graded since not all surface noise can be detected visually. All records are shipped in new Whiplash mailers with cardboard backing with the sleeved record outside of the jacket to prevent seam splits.
Below is more thorough info on my grading system:
NM: Surfaces essentially look new. This is the highest rating I give used records.
VG+: Very nice shape. May have a few stray very light hairlines and/or light paper scuffs visible under bright light. Will have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. No feelable marks.
VG: Has hairlines and/or paper scuffs and has audible surface noise particularly between songs and during quieter passages.
G+: Has more pronounced hairlines and paper scuffs and may have a few small feelable marks, but still no skips.
