This is the original deep groove RVG-etched “P”- pressing of Johnny Griffin “A Blowing Session” on the New York 23 labels of Blue Note BLP 1559. The playing surface is in near-new condition, with an amazing luster; perhaps played once; one tic towards the end of the first track on Side 2. The laminated reverse-frame West 63rd St. cover is in excellent condition - bright and clean throughout; two small checkmarks at the top corners of the back slick; ½” bump at the lower left corner; ¼” bump at the lower right corner; very slight lamination lifting (no flaking) along the opening. Personnel include Lee Morgan, Hank Mobley, John Coltrane, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, and Art Blakey. $2000.00.
