Van Halen - 5150 Vinyl LP Record Heavy Metal Sammy Hagar EX condition

Record grade: VG+(+)
Sleeve grade: VG+

The record has very faint traces of sleeve wear visible under bright light, but sounds fantastic. It has been VPI cleaned. If you’re listening hard for it, you might hear very occasional light surface noise between some tracks and during quieter passages but the record plays very clean mostly without any audible surface noise.

The cover is in nice shape with just a few light creases, the main one being toward the opening from pulling the record out of the sleeve. There are also a couple more small creases along spine. On the back cover along the edge that opens there is a small scuff on the edge of the cover slick about 2 inches long. There’s also some very minor corner wear. The printed inner sleeve has the usual seam splits along the three seams.

This is an RCA Music Service club edition. It sounds just as good as the standard pressing.

--------

I grade LPs based on a conservative interpretation of the Goldmine standard. This means that a VG+ record is in very nice shape and should have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. A record with sustained surface noise will be at best a VG. All records are play-graded since not all surface noise can be detected visually. All records are shipped in new Whiplash mailers with cardboard backing with the sleeved record outside of the jacket to prevent seam splits.

Below is more thorough info on my grading system:

NM: Surfaces essentially look new. This is the highest rating I give used records.
VG+: Very nice shape. May have a few stray very light hairlines and/or light paper scuffs visible under bright light. Will have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. No feelable marks.
VG: Has hairlines and/or paper scuffs and has audible surface noise particularly between songs and during quieter passages.
G+: Has more pronounced hairlines and paper scuffs and may have a few small feelable marks, but still no skips.
