102.  VINTAGE 78 RPM RECORD ~ COLUMBIA 36838, "IT'S BEEN A LONG, LONG TIME" (FEATURED IN MOVIE "AVENGER'S ENDGAME")

ARTIST:  Harry James and his Orchestra

TITLE(S): "It's Been A Long, Long Time" (vocals, Kitty Kallen) / "Autumn Serenade"

GRADE:  The disc is in Excellent Minus (E-) condition.

CONDITION NOTES:  The record labels are bright and crisp with a few small scratches and light scuffs on both sides.  The record surfaces are very glossy with a few faint marks, a few light scuffs, and two light edge lamination cracks on "Time" (are not through to the other side, do not affect sound).  This record plays with excellent fidelity, lots of volume, and very light surface noise.

This disc is in a period Columbia paper sleeve.  The sleeve has small creases, a few small edge tears, is a little brittle, and has some browning due to age.

***No worries about packing - I pack for shipment like the pros - record secured between cardboard squares in large box with plenty of padding.

GRADING IS CONSERVATIVE USING THE FOLLOWING VJM SYSTEM:

N- (new minus):  nearly mint, but has been played.  No visible signs of wear or damage;

E+ (excellent plus):  plays like new with few signs of handling such as tiny scuffs from being slipped into and out of sleeves;

E (excellent):  still very shiny surfaces, near new looking with no visble signs of wear.  It does have a few inaudible light scuffs and/or scratches;

E- (excellent minus):  still shiny, but without the luster of a new record.  A few light scratches and/or scuffs.  May have very light surface noise in playback;

VG+ (very good plus):  an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use have dulled the finish somewhat.  Wear is moderate but playback is generally free from distortion.  Surface noise is present but is not overly pronounced;

VG (very good):  moderate, even wear throughout but still very playable.  Surface noise and scratches are audible, but not intrusive;

VG- (very good minus):  quite playable still, but has distortion in loud passages and some visible graying.  Surface noise and scratches are more audible but still below music level;

G (good):  gray throughout.  Still playable but surface noise rises to level of music.  Quite seriously worn and scratched.
