Record Album History

First, I am a punctilious audiophile.   This personal record collection has been in storage for 99% of it's life in my parent's basement (dry, stably cool, and protected) for more than twenty years in central Colorado.   Thank you Mom & Dad!   Upon graduating from university I then lived throughout the US.   When I moved first moved out I did not have the luxury of bringing my records with me. (what I did bring of them, the music, is explained below)   Present day, life circumstances has directed me to divest myself from my personal record collection.

Now, your opportunity to be the next/second owner of this beautiful music!

I purchased this record brand new in the '80s.   Upon opening the record at my residence I immediately replaced the inferior (and potentially abrasive) record sleeve with a superior, non static, and protective Discwasher V.R.P. (Valuable Record Protector) sleeve.   I also protected the album cover with a new, loosely fitting, clear plastic sleeve.   The record was alway stored upright, never horizontal layed flat unless upon the turntable.

Record Album Care

This record has only been unsleeved and played by myself!   Ever!   I was always possessive and protective of my record collection.   Getting a scratch on my records was akin to cutting my own flesh.   Not one of my records have I ever scratched!   The vinyl is as flawless as the purchase date.

This record has been played, probably, less than five times.   If that many times.

Why so few?   Well, because I was concerned about record wear so I recorded them. (punctilious audiophile, I know)   Oh, and not upon an inferior cassette tape either.   Each of my albums was recorded to Super VHS using PCM encoding.   The most superior taping quality at the time.   And that, somewhat, explains why I initially left my record collection home.   Which I anticipated would only be brief, but life's journey made it's storage life much, much longer.

Each time the record was played (I remember this well) I followed this ritual: first, all records where only ever contacted on their edges, and/or the center hole, with my fingers.   You will not find a single fingerprint on this record!   After desleeving and mounting on the turntable (a Denon DP-62L) it was washed with the Discwasher record cleaning system.   Each time the stylus (a $350 Talisman Boron, line contact, MC) was cleaned and lubricated for the drop.   Never an exception. (did they have OCD in the '80s?)

If you truly know the value of this music on vinyl, you need not read more.   Bid now!

Record Album Storage Notes

All record albums were stored in a low humidity (arid Colorado) basement with a constant ambient temperature of ~63°F.   Record albums were stored vertically and boxed.   No additional weight was allowed atop the boxed record albums.   Record albums were never exposed to humidity or water.
