Stand Up

ISLAND ILPS-9103 Stereo 1969 Recording. Made in England.

Very rare 1st press of this classic Tull album on the Island label with the Black & Orange eye logo. Matrix numbers are ILPS 9103 A2 and B. Fabulous gatefold sleeve with the pop-up figures is a work of art in itself.   

Record condition:  I've looked at this record very carefully and I've played and listened to every track. There are numerous light surface marks on both sides. Very light scratches that are clearly visible. Listening to the album, there are a few pops that appear and then seem to disappear. There aren't any actual scratches that stop the play and there is no completely nasty surface noise, but I am aware I have to grade as defined by the Record Collector Grading System. I enjoyed the album and to me the odd pop and crackle was not too much to spoil my listening or enjoyment. I am very fussy and if the noise was unacceptable I would not have the album for sale. I would grade the record as Very Good (- minus)  It is certainly better than good. There is no major deterioration in the sound quality, it just has a few pops and an odd crackle now and again. I offer a full refund, if you do not agree with my grading anyway.  

Label condition:  Original Pink Island labels with the Black & Orange first press circle logo, both in very good condition. The spindle hole on both sides is nice and clean and undamaged.

Outer Sleeve/Cover:  The fabulous gatefold outer sleeve is a definite work of art on it's own. The condition is very good with no tears or splits but a little bit of general rubbing around the extremities. The spine is still nice and straight, but the printing along the edge shows wear and is not completely readable. The gatefold inner is fabulous with the pop-up figures coming out as you open the sleeve and completely undamaged. The rear of the sleeve is still very good, just has a bit of general grubbyness from handling.      

Inner Sleeve: Shaped white inner sleeve in excellent condition.

Summary:  Very rare 1st pressing with a fabulous, highly collectable cover in "Very good -" overall condition.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extras such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
