Here are two play tested records up for auction or buy it now! First,  a RARE vintage album, an original 1959 pressing of "Ritchie Valens", this is Ritchie Valens' 1st album, released the same year as his tragic early death along with Buddy Holly and the "Big Bopper" in a light airplane crash. This album features Ritchie performing his classic songs "Donna", "That's My Little Suzie", "Come On Let's Go", "La Bamba" and more! Released on the Del Fi label DFLP 1201 (mono), this is an original pressing with the rigid vinyl and "delphonic sound" labels! The record only grades VG, has been well loved and has sleevewear & many light marks on both sides, nothing heavy or that you can feel, The record has been PLAY TESTED! Plays from start to finish with very good sound quality, light surface noise, a few errant pops but no skips, no jumps, still a VERY enjoyable listen! The cover rates VG+, is clean, front has great color portrait of Ritchie, edges show minimal wear but have a couple partial splits neatly taped, binder edge solid and readable, no writing or signatures, has some light age discoloration on back near edges, a decent 56 year old!! PLUS a classic hard to find album: The Big Bopper "Chantilly Lace" on Pickwick records SPC-3365 . J.P. Richardson AKA The Big Bopper was a fast rising star whose original songwriting made others new stars after his early death with Holly and Valens. This album of his originals is outstanding and alot of fun! His original composition "Someone watching over you" is as good as any ballad Elvis ever sang! This 1970's pressing of the Bopper's stuff features "White Lightning" which was omitted on his first Mercury album. Fellow Mercury recording artist George Jones had a smash hit with his recorded version! The record and cover grade VG+. One signature on label. No splits. Clean cover! Glossy record has a some light marks, nothing heavy. Plays great from start to finish! A nice pair of 1950's era recordings! (see all photos) No reserve price!
