Scorn 'Evanescence' Double LP

Original on Earache Records, 1994. Limited Edition.

Cover is in excellent shape with very little wear. "LE" sticker on front. Records have been played, but excellent condition! Insert has minor creasing and wear.

Scorn includes: Michael Harris (vocals, bass); Nick Bullen. Personnel: Scorn (programming); James Plotkin (guitar, guitar synthesizer); Johnny Wakelin (programming). Recording information: Arena Productions, Birmingham, England. Mick Harris and Nicholas Bullen hail from notorious grindcore band Napalm Death, but the only remnants of that past association extant within Scorn are the oppressive nature of the slow, bulky rhythms and the subdued, morose vocals. EVANESCENCE blurs the substantive line between "dub" and "industrial" within its voluminous grottos of whirling, disembodied electronics, concretized basslines, and shuffling drum programs. You vividly get the picture from "Light Trap," which seems to snuff out the very illumination one needs to cling to. Synths alternately moan, beg, and wheeze in a rhythmic half nelson that just barely affords them life. Rather than allowing you to sink into little fluffy clouds, Harris and Bullen deem it necessary that you get sucked into their sonic black vortexes instead.
