This is the first pressing of Elvis Presley's first UK album - Rock 'n' Roll - from 1956.
It has the maroon 'Nipper' label and the original inner sleeve as well. A rare item indeed!!
My father has owned this from new, so I can vouch for its authenticity.
It has a good bit of crackling and quite a bit of surface scratching, but the sound quality is fairly decent all in all - it's still of a very listenable quality
I am grading this as fair, defined as:
"The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump."This is doing the record a bit of a disservice, as there are no skips or jumps and the louder tracks are not too affected. However, 'Fair' is what you are buying.
In terms of sleeve, I have to classify it as fair.
Fair - "The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missingAgain, I feel that doesn't quite do it justice - the cover has rips in it and a lot of wear (see photos) but is serviceable enough and the inside sleeve is not bad at all.
However, fair is the quality being offered.
I have tried to be as honest as I can with the listing - it's a well loved album and it will be great to find it a new home.
This will be sent in a tough cardboard record mailer, with cardboard stiffners.
It will be sent using Royal Mail Signed For (UK) or Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed (International).
