Scarce and always sought after, 1965 *TRUE* STEREO first pressing vinyl of the meaty garage beat & punk grinder "THEM" led by the snarl snotty vocals of young Van Morrison in his very first appearance on record. The Lp is lean, tough and mean with a driving back beat captivating full-on rave-ups! The big hit GLORIA was massive popular in that near all fledging garage bands in America covered the tune, even though none could ever equal the impact of THEM's version ...even the Shadows Of Knight who rode the tune to a top radio 40 hit was decidedly weaker ...Them's version more explicit lyrically causing radio stations to shy away...and thatr's not all, there's a bumch of classic ravers here, including "Mystic Eyes", "One Two Brown Eyes", "Here Comes The Night" and a slew more alike...

Not strictly just a British rock group, but packaged as part of the British Invasion, Them forged their hard-nosed R&B sound in Belfast, Ireland, moving to England in 1964 after landing a deal with Decca Records. The band's simmering sound was dominated by boiling organ riffs, lean guitars, and the tough vocals of lead singer Van Morrison, whose recordings with Them rank among the very best performances of the British Invasion.

In England the album's called Angry Young Them, isn't it? Well, that's exactly what it sounds like. A garage gem.
