PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! The AMAZING great very first '71 solo, just after the break up of TASTE ... this is the original BRITISH album - first press Polydor,  very underrated -or- unknown to many;  featuring highly infectious, all killer, no filler tunes with blistering guitar leads ... Gallagher saved up his *best* material for this one, his first solo Lp.

Printed/plastic lined inner sleeve is included

...Many know, of course, the heavy blues band Gallagher fronted in the late 60's was called "TASTE". As the band disbanded in 1970, Rory released this stunning solo in '71 containing superb infectious/memorable self composed hard rocking tracks filled with biting/howling guitar ... both sides are not only packed with catchy tunes engulfed in the famous Gallagher guitar riffs, and there are many highlights, including the ripping "Laundromat" & "Sinner Boy" but also several moody tracks that deliver high qualities just the same (" I Fall Apart", "For The Last Time", "It's You"), as well, there are the catchy rockers "Hands Up" And "For The "Last Time" that burn & sizzle with total appeal ...though Gallagher issued a slew of albums through the 70's & 80's, the first two or three solo Lp's were the ones with the 'impact' sound ...

By the way...Rory gets an unusual sound out of his guitar in striking 'octave splits' -- a sudden high pitch squeel off of a tone note, within his guitar break. Tony McPhee of the Groundhogs and even Leslie West of Mountain were two other guitarists who mastered this technique. Gallagher's guitar was extensively modified. The tuning pegs, for a start, are odd (5 Sperzels and one Gotoh) and all of these have been found to be replacements. Secondly, it is thought that the nut had been replaced and interchanged a number of times. Thirdly, the scratchplate was changed during Gallagher's time with Taste. Another change was the pickups of which were not original. The final modification was that of the wiring. Gallagher disconnected the bottom tone pot and rewired so he had just a master tone control along with the master volume control. He also installed a 5-way selector switch in place of the vintage 3-way one. The most notable effect from his years of touring is the almost complete removal of the guitar's sunburst finish, partly through, from being left out in the rain in a ditch for days after being stolen. Other quirks include a 'hump' in the scratch plate which moves the neck pickup closer to the neck on the bass side and a replacement of all of the pickups, though this replacement was due to damage rather than a perception of a tonal inadequacy. Reproductions of the guitar have recently been sold by Fender, though with smaller frets and lower action than the original.

Gallagher used various makes and models of amplifiers during his career. In general, however, he preferred smaller 'combo' amplifiers to the larger, more powerful 'stacks' that were popular with rock and hard rock guitarists. To make up for the relative lack of power on stage, he would often link several different combo amps together.

When Gallagher was with Taste, he used a single Vox AC30 with a Dallas Rangemaster treble booster plugged into the 'normal' input. Examples of this sound can be heard on the Taste albums, as well as the album Live in Europe. Brian May, of the band Queen, has admitted in interviews that as a young man, he was inspired to use a similar amplifier and treble booster setup after meeting Gallagher and asking him how he got his sound. Gallagher has also been known to have used Ibanez Tube Screamers and various Boss effects.
In the early to mid 1970s, Gallagher began to use Fender amplifiers, most notably a Bassman and a Twin, both of a 50s vintage. An example of this sound can be heard on the Irish Tour '74 album. He also had a Fender Concert amplifier.
