This is Blue Note Records BST 84175, Herbie Hancock Empyrean Isles, a blue and white, New York USA label, original stereo issue of this classic record with Van Gelder and the ear (p) mark stamped in the dead wax. The record is in VG++ condition showing almost no signs of wear and playing quietly throughout. There are some light sleeve marks and pressing discolorations that do not affect the play but keep it from being near mint. This is a beautiful sounding copy. The cover, still in it's original shrink wrap, with the 43 West 61st St., New York 23, address and Printed In USA on the back, is excellent and intact. There is a 1" split on the lower seam where the shrink has worn away (see photo 6). The labels are excellent and show no spindle marks. An original inner sleeve is included as well. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12, This is an excellent collector's grade copy of this beautiful original Blue Note issue with all the proper markers evident.
