PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BOOM! by the Sonics is the quintessential crude garage rocker album. The Sonics’ songs touch on such divine subjects as fast cars, dance steps, and cruel women. The lyrics are wonderfully forgettable and "SONICS = BOOM!" gets by through sheer force of will. No songs could contain this kind of energy. It’s actually best that the songs just give way to the frenzied power of the band. Finesse wasn’t even remotely the point of the Sonics. They blasted you away with pure rock ‘n’ roll power. Their fuzzy-sounding guitars put a twist on that high energy pounding garage & R&B.

The second Sonics album offers monstrous 1966 scream fuzzed punk mixed with shredded violent garage rock insanity. Highlights include the terrifying "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark," a heroically wrong version of "Louie Louie," the caustic guitar slashes of "Skinny Minny," and the seething "He's Waiting."

Yes it is............The Sonics' second album is every bit as explosive and influential as their first LP,  loaded with gritty Northwest rock & roll. Sandwiched in between the abrasive classics of "Cinderella" and "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" (with the Wailers on backing vocals), the funk-punk sass  "Shot Down," the demonic "He's Waitin'," and the sledgehammer, inside-out version of "Louie, Louie" (only three chords to play and they don't even play 'em) are the band's straight-ahead takes on standard tunes gone shredded like "Skinny Minnie," "Let the Good Times Roll," "Don't You Just Know It," "Since I Fell for You," "Hitch Hike," and a nice barn-burning version of "Jenny Jenny." Where the Wailers cut down the trees and paved the highway, the Sonics were the first group from their neck of the woods to take that music somewhere wilder than their original inspirations. The second chapter of Northwest rock & roll after you absorb the Wailers' Golden Crest sides.

The Sonics went against the grain and liked it; perhaps so will you.

CONDITION: The Cover: is crisp & strong; a thick cardboard cover retains original colors and is rated VG++ front, "EX" (excellent) back ... the front cover is NOT with the heavy shelf wear usually found in the black area, this copy with a very collectible appearance (again, most covers are well worn being a wear prone cover) ...the best thing is it is very solid = the seams are solid, tight...no bends, no writing, no delete marks

The Vinyl: is still glossy over both sides ...a clean VG+ to VG++ minor visual scuffs is of little concern as the whole LP plays clean & strong in excellent audio zones-- the deep groove pressing easily provides a killer clean listen to the wild garage jams exactly as released 49 years ago.... excellent clear audio...no groove wear! Both Etiquette labels are clean
