This is the original deep-groove RVG-stamped “P”-pressing of Louis Smith “Smithville” on the West 63rd St. (no “INC”) labels of Blue Note BLP 1594. Side 1 has three light, inaudible handling marks; Side 2 is immaculate; high luster throughout; perhaps played once. The original West 63rd St. laminated cover is clean throughout; however, there is a 2 ¾” tear at the lower right corner of the front, at the opening; the bottom seam has a 2 ½” split, at the opening, and ¼” wear at the spine; the back slick is clean, with normal age toning. A later, non-laminated cover in new condition will be included.
